Just got fired but told if I resign I’ll get two weeks pay

I just got fired today for bullshit reasons. They say it was performance related, but they never gave any specifics. Whatever. They told me if I write a letter of resignation, I will get two weeks pay. However, I don't want to resign if I need to go on Social Security. I don't have much money left so I really might need unemployment benefits. Thoughts? Edit: I should add, they want me to respond within the hour, so time is of the essence. Edit 2: Looks like I won't be resigning
