Union won’t defend against company’s hierarchical sociopaths

I work for a Fortune 500 company and I hate my job. I am one of the better paid non-mgmt employees in the whole plant and one of the only ones who isn't required to work OT every week. I love the work I do and my co-workers. This job has increased my income by 250% and is the only job that has ever provided benefits and is paying for me to go to school. There are no similar jobs around the area that pay even remotely close to what I am making here. Also, I'm part of the union. So how could I hate that so much? Easy answer – I have multiple scumbag control freak bosses that love to micromanage and look down on everybody, including me, and they create an insanely toxic and hostile work environment.

This company's foundation is built on a strict employee hierarchy and the managers run absolutely wild with this and foster master/servant dynamics. Everybody I have spoken to, including other managers, agree that they look down on us, and find pleasure in making our lives more difficult than they need to be.

Again, I am union. But representation is absolutely non-existent within this company/local. The union (teamsters) representatives immediately side with the company on matters that should be cut and dry, but of course, there is always just enough grey area in our written contract for the company to win every grievance. Everybody assumes it is a corrupt relationship between the union and company.

Would I be happy anywhere? I don't know, probably not. I have a problem with workplace hierarchy in general, but I understand it's role and also understand it is essentially unavoidable in most types of employment. I don't believe it has to be implemented to be mutually exclusive with regards to human decency and respect.

I think I'm just gonna ride it out until I find something else, but I wish I didn't have to — because aside from my managers the job is good.

If you were the devil on my shoulder — what would you advise I might do to make a horrible managers life miserable? What would you do in this situation once you got to the point where you quit caring? –or is there any reasonable advice for what I should do to help me get through this?

I know there are people out there who have it way worse than I do, and my heart goes out to them.
