I was working at a hospital as a part of equipment management. We basically had to constantly stock up on equipment that doctors and nurses need to help treat their patients on every floor.
There are these walkie talkie like communication devices that employees use to get in contact with each other and receive calls from nurses and doctors incase they need anything from us. However, my boss never got me one. I’ve been working there for 3 whole weeks and he just never got me one. So he would just text me incase he had anything for me to do in the meantime.
I just got a call today from my temp agency saying that I’ve been let go from my bosses boss. Saying that I was “Hard to reach on floors and during my BREAKS”….
Even if you say I was hard to reach on while on the floors. That’s probably because I’m still learning where all the spots of where certain merchandise goes in each specific room. Trying to make sure I don’t make any mistakes. I still manage to get back at a reasonable time. Plus, my boss can literally call and text me at anytime. I answered every single time he contacted me. I received zero texts or calls during my breaks. Saying he’ll get me one of those devices so that everyone can reach me “eventually”.
I’m trying to see the silver lining since that job was a killer on my back and feet despite not being so hard anyway. But I’m still super pissed and I just want to fully understand where I went wrong.
