Oh boy… how do I start this.
I'm fucking absolutely livid? How about that?
So for context to kinda explain what's happening. I started this new job a while back. I like every second of it even tho the pay is trash. ($13/hr) But didn't mind because over time and a great career to move up and make a lot of money.
I work for a currently small company that makes eye glasses and goggles. When I started I was put in the stock room. Pulling orders as they come in the system.
Now, keep in mind this is a huge stock room, 100s of different types of frames. And thousands of different types of lenses. I'm in there by myself pulling orders, (there is a teenage girl that works in there but we'll get to her in a sec). Ever since my first day on the job, I over achieved and majorly impressed my boss. I get compliments and told I'm the fastest picker they have ever had as well as box folder etc etc. My job is technically only to pull orders and receive them. But I'm fast enough that I get done and help out in different parts of the lab and the shipping area. I impressed my boss to the point that after a week he was already talking about a promotion, moving me into the lab itself and bumping my pay to $18 – 19/hr.
Okay so now let's fast forward almost 2 months..the past week, holy fucking hell.
So remember the teenage girl I mentioned earlier? She is part time (she's in college) her mom is head of HR. So she walks around with this chip on her shoulder.(she has gotten a couple people fired from some rumors I've heard, I know they are just rumors but ya never know) all she does is talk to the people in the lab and when bossman walks in she immediately makes herself look busy but she's not actually doing anything I.E. rummaging through inventory, walking really fast around the stockroom. Her actual job is to take care and keep track of inventory. We'll apparently no one told me my job description also said “do her job for her” because for the past 2 weeks. Even tho I've had no time to fo the things I need to do allninhear all day is “hey when she gets here can you help her?” I help a little but my helping getting smaller and smaller by the day. Until I finally told her that she is gonna have to figure out how to do her own job.
Now i also need to explain that… o have resting asshole face, I'm not always chipper or happy go lucky, I suffer from ADHD, depression, social anxiety, panic attacks. (All professionally diagnosed) apparently…this has became an issue for my boss. I come in, do my job, i go home to my wife and kids.
He expects a constant smile. A constant good mood.
Normally I am in a good mood but because I'm concentrating I look angry (just how my face is)
Let's get to the grand finale already (I know your tired of reading and I'm tired of typing ahaha)
Today… i get pulled into his office by him and the floor manager.. totally out of the blue. I GOT A FINALE WARNING. Not a verbal, not a written. BUT A FUCKING F I N A L E. Which means im 2 seconds away from being fired.
I go in and sit down and bossman and managee start spewing shit about
“Well..it's come to our attention from OTHER PEOPLES PERSPECTIVE that your not really doing your job. Your being lazy. You have no sense of urgency, from OTHER PEOPLES PERSPECTIVE your being slow. Someone caught you sleeping (which really caught me off guard the worst cuz I don't sleep on the job no matter how tired I am) we really want you to succeed but we need people who are gonna do EVERYTHING not just pull orders.:
Accusations of:
ignoring orders,
Ignoring my higher ups
Leaving my station
Being on my phone constantly
Not helping where needed.
I had to pick my jaw off the fucking floor. There's alot more that went on that I don't want to get into but it was all a bunch of fucking BS.
Needless to say they can all kick fucking rocks, I'm looking for a new place of employment.
But what is that statement again? Oh yeah!
