Just left JCPenney and never going back!

I just left this shithole after buying my daughter a dress for her school dance next week. About 30 minutes of not being able to find this dress, an employee asked me if I needed help. She was very nice and we found the dress. Very talkative, attentive, and they were really busy. But to her, I was the only person in the store. She tells me to follow her to the register to ring me up. Then everything changed… She asks me if I want to apply for such and such card and save 35% or something and I said no. She tries another tactic and I have to very rudely cut her off and say NO, please let me pay so I can leave! Then silence. It got a little…

Then everything changed…

She asks me if I want to apply for such and such card and save 35% or something and I said no. Then she takes this pamphlet out and starts reading and showing it to me. Again, I said no. She tries another tactic and I have to very rudely cut her off and say NO, please let me pay so I can leave!

Then silence. It got a little tense I’ll admit.

I asked her, what’s your incentive? Do you bonus off of how many people you sign up for this? She chuckles and says heck no! I said so what’s your incentive to push people into these applications.

She said if they don’t offer and get a certain conversion rate she’ll eventually get written up over it. Between all of this I heard and saw the cashier behind her doing almost the same thing to another customer.

These ladies were busting their ass, trying their best to get customers to get these credit applications so they won’t get written up!

Retail sucks!! Pay employees to provide great service, not promote tools to drown the average American into more debt. And FFS, don’t write them up over shit like this!
