I've been at my place of work almost a full year (24th marks the year) and within that time 10 people have left. I originally applied for a reception role but got a different position, but made it known I'd be very interested in learning reception
So December or January come around and I'm asked if I'd like to learn reception, yes please! Except my training is the worst I've ever had, literally a script and just telling me how to do things, only verbal training. 2 days of it and the 3rd day my manager attempts to trains me on calls for the last hour of my shift and then just stops training me with no word at all, just dead stop. These were 3 days that were spread out too, not in a row
Whatever, we had a lot of new hires so maybe she got busy, I wasn't happy though but still had a slight hope that I'd get into reception
Come Tuesday, I'm asked by the doctors that my manager said that I'd be open to learning reception, which I confirmed. Manager then sets up a day to train me on phones (yesterday) she was in office and said it would be after lunch and then….literally nothing. She didn't show up to train me and something in me just kind of snapped honestly and that little sliver just died, I'm done of being let down here.
If she's comes in next week asking to reschedule that training or something like that I'm just going to have to tell her I'm no longer interested
Management has shown time and time again that they're unreliable. Everything I've learned outside of my role has been because I learned it on my own and/or because I've asked my coworkers about how to do them or what they are
Literally have at best 2 weeks of work left of my original role, so let's hope I can find something quick.
