Quit my job today after 8 years. The whole time he had me and my co workers on 1099 and labeled as subcontractors but treated us as employees. We had no freedom like a subcontractor should, no written agreements, no negotiation of pay, no raises, not once in 8 years. He does this to save on payroll taxes, social security, ect. It's blatant illegal missclasification. Because of this myself and multiple coworkers are in crippling tax debt and I am considering taking legal action. The kicker is my ex boss is my girlfriends father. Any thoughts?
