So I live in Germany and have been working as a financial consultant for one year. I just got promoted and feel lucky af to be making 60k because to me that‘s a ton of money. Hours are not too bad although can be long. Yesterday I met a 21yo in a group who told me about his internship at an M&A boutique where they make him work from 9am-1am daily. I was baffled when he told me about how he loved it and how much of an impact one has in being part of M&A. He then told me that entry level he will make about 70-90k base plus up to 100% bonus, which of course is a shit ton of money here (for me at least) but I don‘t get how brainwashed you have to be to think it‘s amazing to be working like that?!?!?! He will be a fat slob with back issues in no time and all thats left for him to feel good about is that he thinks people are impressed when he tells them what he does. Fuck working like that, I want as much private time as I can get.
