Started working at a warehouse 2 years ago and got a job doing shipping. The maintenance guy was retiring and i got offered his job. Told I'd be payed more than the other staff and i would be the maintenance guy. So then i have about twice the work and 2 bucks more an hour. No title yet but i figure its coming. About a year goes by and besides my boss and I there's an entirly new staff. Find out the new hires basically make the same as i do. So now im the only one who know the system and i train everyone. Ask my boss about my title and maybe a raise for all the extra work. Im doing 3 peoples jobs right now. Boss says the only way to make more money is to go to the counter and i was never going to get a title we'reall shippe/ receivers. So i learn as much as i can while still doing my 3 jobs. A few weeks ago i start talking to anyone i can about positions in the office and counter. Have a meeting with my regional manager yesterday, i figure it's finally time. He tells me I'm too important to the warehouse and he won't bring me into the office without a degree. I tell him I'm fine with doing the job i just want to make more money for all the work i have. Sorry not in the budget but he'll bring it up at the meeting next week. The one where they try to figure out why the staff in the back keeps quitting. I'm going to go get a commercial license and quit as soon as i can just wanted to vent.
