Lack of breaks

I was working in the floral department of a grocery store chain yesterday. It was very busy because it was the Sunday before Valentine's Day and the entire department seemed overwhelmed. For the shift I worked (6 hours) I should have gotten two breaks (as per the union/employment agreement) but was only given one, which I only got once I went looking for someone to relieve me. Talking to the other employees there that day, I realized it was even worse for them: two girls, one with a 9-hour shift and one with an 8-hour shift also only got a single 15 minute break when they should have received two 15 minute breaks and a half-hour lunch. This is absolutely unacceptable, not to mention illegal. Considering going to the union rep, mostly for the sake of those other employees.
