Normal work day then suddenly get the call that I have 30 minutes to pack my shit and leave..from nowhere
I had been working a minimum wage job, struggling to make rent but had a chance to further my career with a promotion on the horizon (boss kept telling me it was coming for 2 months)
I'm in complete shock and disbelief at how companies today think this is an acceptable way to treat people. I get that layoffs happen but to give no notice is gross. I'm a foreign worker and my boss knew that without my work I may have to up and go home, which may currently be the case. I guess bigger fool me for trusting anyone at the company.
Posting this as I just need to rant. I'm broken.
