Language jobs are a joke

This is a ranting post!/ I am a linguist with over 7 years of experience in translation and interpreting services fluent in 4 languages. My last project ended and now I'm looking for a new one. So far I've been offered minimum wage positions using ALL the languages as a telemarketing/Customer service/Complaints department phone operator. The ONLY good job I've managed to get an interview to I've not been given because they're looking for “Natives”. I mean you can't find a person native to 3 languages you need to choose one!! To top it all off one of the 12h shifts/minimum wage HR reps threw the “No one wants to work line on my face…” I was so fed up I answered “that's because no one wants to pay what it costs” and hung up… Any suggestions for a career change?
