Lawsuit against group insurer through employer, haven’t been able to work in over a year and I can’t do this anymore, what are my options?

My employer has decided I cannot work until the litigation is over. The lawsuit isn’t against my company, it’s against the group insurance provider who provides benefits. Since there is litigation against them and it’s not resolved yet, I cannot work. I haven’t been able to work elsewhere because it’s in my contract or employee agreement. Idk what to do but I cannot survive any longer. I’m almost out of money. What do I do, quit?
