Leaving Albertsons tomorrow and starting Uber Eats on Monday.

I've been working DUG part time at Albertsons for just over two months, first job as a 19yo, and for the most part it's been great – except for the schedule. Without fail, I've been scheduled every Saturday since I started, except for Labor Day weekend which I specifically asked for off. I thought being scheduled for every Saturday would be a temporary thing, but… two months later, I finally asked our scheduling manager if I could get at least one weekend day guaranteed off in order to be able to spend time with my parents, who are up there in years (66 and 57 respectively) and still in the workforce. The response? Basically “you were hired to be the weekend kid, suck it up”. I know it may sound like a minor thing, particularly considering I'm 19 and this is my first job, but… I've had enough. That alone…

That alone wouldn't have been enough for me to quit, but there were two other straws that broke the camel's back:
1, she told us we were no longer to sit down in our own area, or else we'd be fired. Not on milk crates, not on nothing. Apparently corporate made that call – but regardless of who it came from, it was another strike against them.
2, the thing that properly made me decide to pursue UE: I asked for a day off two weeks in advance, but the note to our scheduler got thrown away by mistake and wasn't found until the next day – and I had no choice to text her, to which the response was, and I quote:
“Your request is denied. You have been informed that I need at least 2 weeks notice. ”
I tried! Not my fault the note didn't make it to her own time! We rarely share shifts, the days I usually work now are the days she doesn't, so I can't hand her a request note – thus the kerfuffle, as I'm on closing shift while she's on opening.

So, I said good riddance. The morning I got that text, I signed up for Uber Eats, but wasn't going to quit Albertsons just yet. That was a decision I made today, when I came in and saw the specific Friday I asked for off, I was scheduled for, probably out of sheer spite. Tomorrow's going to be my last day, and to be totally honest, I'm considering this a dodged bullet considering Kroger is buying Albertsons. Uber Eats, here I come. I'm gonna miss the pay (14.50/hr) and I'm gonna miss most of the people.
Not gonna miss you though, Carrie.

Sorry if any of this sounds like me just being a spoiled kid who's experiencing the workforce for the first time, but I needed to vent my frustrations before this decision truly becomes permanent.
