Legit, how do you cope with grueling work 35-40 hours a week?

Im working full time in (fast) food service and taking some online community college credits over the summer to supplement some credits for my Bachelors degree. I don't understand what's wrong with me. I literally cannot seem to manage a 40 hour work week at this job (or other jobs, like my last position at a grocery store). When I was a cashier, I would beg them to send me on cart runs and to move the heavy ass cases of bottled water in 95 degree California heat so I wouldn't be on register. Older family members have no sympathy, say “welcome to the adult world” despite the fact they have never worked as many hours at a minimum wage job that still barely covers financial needs.
