A little under 3 weeks ago I got fired from my job for responding to a company wide email about returning to the office. I told my boss (and everyone) that it will lower productivity. Later that day I got fired, well my position had been eliminated.
A week later my former boss tries to get me back, even offering a pay raise. I decline the offer. (By the way, never under any circumstances should you accept a counter offer from your employer. It’s a means to keep you around until they can replace you, and they will). I also declined an offer that was paying more but didn’t have a remote option. Anyways I filed for unemployment right after but I still haven’t heard back. But that doesn’t matter because I got a job!
Today I got an email from one of the places I interviewed at. I got the job! It pays me the exact wage I was making before and I get to stay remote permanently.
Don’t settle for less than you are worth. Don’t give in. It all works out in the end if you stay true to your goals.
