Currently my workplace is hiring salespeople. But because it’s commission-only and it takes a significant amount of time to get established in this business, we’ve seen a lot of declined job offers. And me as a peon gets to hear how sad it is that “no one wants to invest in themselves.” When has anyone actually said the words “you know what, I hate investing in myself I’d rather keep pissing my money away”?
People can’t not eat for 3+ mos that’s not a thing. Anyone would choose a lot more money later than a lot less money now – that’s literally what investing is. They don’t have the option to go without an income.
