Likely going to get screamed at for discussing our own business’ policies with coworkers

Hey, got work in a couple hours and I'm pretty sure I'm about to get chewed out. Boss owns a small business, has expressed to everyone that she can't pay much because of that. But gets upset that we're not involved enough in bringing in business and etc. I like working there and I liked my boss and coworkers. I saw a career here. Been here for 3 months. I'm a professional worker with a salary, everyone else is hourly. I find out we don't have an employee handbook. Boss is complaining about another employee to me, I suggest a write up procedure. After several days of complaining and me telling her we need a handbook, she agrees and tells me to write it. I asked the other employees what the sick leave policy was, they said they get no paid time off. I say oh, well I'll ask her…

I say oh, well I'll ask her if she can provide it for you guys. I'm in a higher position than them, but I'm not their supervisor.

When I suggested it, the whole conversation turned into this inquisition where she demanded to know who said they were unhappy with her policies. I said no one. But, you complain that people don't stay long here, I think offering some kind of paid sick leave may be a good way to positively contribute to retention.

She has now been calling every employee in to demand what we talked about and demand who complained. Even though no one did. The other employees are absolute pushovers and will say anything to get her to not yell at them.

I'm the kind of person who has no issues with quitting. I will quit on a dime. But I'm just upset because I thought I fit in here. Any thoughts or encouragement would be helpful. Quitting would not be a financial hardship, but I don't want to quit every time I don't get along with my boss' idiosyncracies. Maybe I was wrong. I don't feel like I had bad intentions. I only asked the staff because she was busy all day and I didn't think these policies were a secret.
