Literally FORCED to become a manager…

I started a new job a few months ago. Anyway, my manager said the other day that he wants me to take a few people from his team (which consists of me and the rest of the people he manages) and for me to manage some of them instead of him having to do it. I believe in all the anti-work sayings. Rubbish wage/ rubbish effort. Work your wage. And so on. I purposely work part time. I even schedule times in my (private) calendar to make sure I use up all my sick days etc etc. I only work for the money, and have zero passion for any job I've ever had.

So yeah, I've been forced to become a manager against my will, with no extra pay or perks, and I'm preparing to become a hated figure for a few people. What qualities and actions did you like the most from those rare one in a million managers?
