Sorry, this is pretty much a rant. So i work a night shift as maintenance, We are underpaid and understaffed but they offer full benefits with 401k. i've been recently looking for a better job as have told my boss as much. i had a incident happen that could of ended with death, where we were moving a 150 lb carpet cleaner( loaded with chems and warter) to another building. when we were on the road maybe going 15ish my coworker started to break and the machine rushed foward and smacked into our seats getting us coverd in warter and chems. the next day when my boss was in, i told him about what happend and kinda tore into him a little. few hours latter i got promoted and was told i would get a 10% raise. well i got a raise, i looked to amke sure after it had taken effect. It was a 10 cent raise, 0.5% raise. i took off work early and check for other jobs in the company. i fould a listing for the job im doing. even if i had gotten that 10% raise would olny of been making 14.03, if some one gets hired tomarrow, they would be making 14.14 ( $12.86 starting pay + 10% shift differential). Im just going to tell my manager that i want 15$ and hour or im just done working for this company. sorry for the rant, wish me luck!
