So today at work we got told that we may not be allowed to have our cell phones on the floor due to SOME staff being on their phones all the time. For context I work at a homeless shelter. I said wait that’s weird and punitive and probably won’t help the people who are on the phones all the time get off their phones and start building rapport with our guests. Everyone jumped down my throat and one coworker even laughed and scoffed at me which hurt pretty bad ngl. I just think it’s weird for a job to police your access to your phone? Looking for validation. Bless you all.
