My work place is hiring management. I was going to be a manger and was the front runner until Tuesday when I sat in an interview for a prior coworker. She was very unethical in her prior and my former work place had to consult a higher level to terminate her. I alerted my current manager though of course I had a visceral reaction when she popped on the zoom link for the interview ( I didn’t know it was her).
My manager and hiring manager pulled me into a meeting yesterday to note they are passing on me for management right now. They foresee me being in a leadership down there road but noted I need to work on emotional regulation skills from what they saw on Tuesday.
Should I just stay and try to shine or am I totally out of contention in future for leadership opportunities?
