My brother (27m) is a plumbing apprentice working towards his journeyman’s card.
The small company he currently works for has two other journeyman plumbers who, not only drive company vehicles, but they also have a company gas card.
These two guys have known the owner of the company for many years and also live relatively close to MOST jobs they take, my brother on the other hand drives an average of 50 miles each way for work, drives his own vehicle and does not get a gas card. He has worked for this company for 4+ years.
I have advised him to at least ask for a gas card. He is an ideal employee. Generally he is always the first person on the job and the youngest, which means he does the brunt of the hard work/lifting.
Besides working for another company/something closer to home, is there any sound advice I could impart onto him?
TIA!
