Looking for another job but can’t leave the industry

I’ve been working the same job for 8 years since I got out of the army. Started at $14/hr currently at $39.14/hr but here’s the kicker. I’m not a supervisor which I don’t mind but the off work responsibilities are insane I work in oil and gas so even when I’m not at work it’s constant phone calls and e-mails that they are I absolutely have to keep up with. I’m not salary so my argument is I’m not being paid to answer my personal phone and work email I’m also on call for 2 night shifts a week which I’m not paid to be on call but expected to come in when called. Getting into another refinery is a very long process and more often than not it’s you against 2,000 applicants for 3 job openings I’m also the provider for my family I guess I’m just venting really…

Any thoughts on what I can do about being on call and not being paid to be on call? Thanks in advance
