Had a few big shots from a bank take a tour around our facility today. As they were leaving they gave our CFO a box of chocolates that look like gold bars. My CFO starts handing them out to everyone saying “thanks for all you do!” She gets to me and I said “shoot I almost thought this was the real deal!” And she says “it's better!” I replied with “if chocolate and pizza paid the bills I'd be loaded!” She walked away without a response. Naturally I get an email a few hours later saying I'll receive 50% incentive next pay period for rude behavior. This was a week after we had a team meeting about how we're killing it productively and having our actual best year as a company in its 15 years. They rewarded us with dominoes pizza and chocolate. Not anything that actually helps in the real world.
