I’ve been working in tech sales for the past 4 years and am feeling completely burnt out. I lie to myself and my friends/family that I enjoy the work but in reality I just like the paycheck.
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and I concluded that a big salary isn’t worth slaving away at a job I hate. I actually despise technology and would prefer to spend more time outdoors where I am most happy.
I’m looking for a new job that is low/medium effort that will give time and energy to explore my passions outside of work. I understand a pay cut is almost guaranteed, but I’m not getting any younger and a move like this makes sense for me right now.
Curious if anyone knows any specific industries/roles that fit this description. Ideally I would find something that is outside of sales.
Thanks!
edit
The job doesn’t necessarily have to be outdoors, I just would like more free time to explore the outdoors (camp/hike etc.)
I’m willing to work a job on a computer if I’m not held to ridiculous sales quotas and stressful deadlines.
