Had nowhere else to go honestly, thought I'd come here.
So for context, I'm a contractor working in General labor, I also have high functioning depression and acute stress disorder however! It hasn't ever interrupted my ability to perform at satisfactory efficiency up until an apparent, “incident.”.
The incident being, I was slightly on edge because they deployed me to the town my abuser lives in. So while I was under control, I was a little anxious because while we had a simple clean job we went into town a couple of times, so I began to feel on edge because hell, if you've escaped an abusive relationship before, you'll kinda be afraid of em lurking around every corner, ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU'RE WORKING WHERE THEY LIVE!
But once again, I was fine! When we were on site I had no issues until my manager pulled me aside because I guess he noticed I was a little odd. So I told him the story, we had a smoke, and I returned to work and finished the job. Come to today, they tried to fucking deploy me to the town again and I asked to be given a different posting, in case of my mental health.
So once again I was pulled aside and funnily enough informed that my “mental breakdown” in the town was a cause of concern, so I asked why they'd deploy me there again if they were concerned for me.
(My other managers seem to think I've gone crazy.) So I begged John (not his name) to tell them what I told em, or to even pull my file! To explain I ain't working in that town, but I'm also not a liability.
So I get sat outside like I'm some 6 year old in trouble at school, and John returns to tell me that I can go home for now, but to come in early tomorrow.
So as of now, there's going to be a sitdown regarding my ability to participate in operations. I plan to argue that while I'm more than capable of performing at the zenith of my abilities, my mental health needs to be taken into consideration before I have a real breakdown, not just being a little shaky, having an actual panic attack like these assholes ain't ever seen in their fine-dining lives!
And if my points aren't considered, I'm putting in my two weeks.
Thoughts? Advice? I could really use anything ya'll got.
