Management encouraging everyone to take vacation

I will be the first to admit my company has its share of issues. However, I was on a Town Hall today and it was nice to hear the Head of the my LOB tell everyone it is summer enjoy time with your family. Unplug and relax. Take your vacation. The work will still be there when you come back. This is not the first time that statement from leadership has been made. I appreciate it. My direct manager has never questioned when I take vacation. As long as I add it to the calendar I am good. We are considered adults and my team works together to make sure there is adequate coverage (ie the entire team, 6 people, cannot be out at the same time.) No approval needed if we take 2 weeks or less. (3 weeks or more needs to have a discussion with manager to ensure…

My company is huge so I will admit not all departments have the same philosophy and have a harder time taking vacation.

Again, company has other issues and I am looking to leave for a whole different issue but so many times on this sub we hear how management refuses to let employees have time off. I will acknowledge when my company does something right in my opinion.
