Management: How would you like to be basically poorer for doing the same thing? Be grateful for the privilege!

Fresh bullshit from a management meeting this morning: “So we will be talking with staff about raises next month. Raises will not be 'cost of living' increases. They will just be general raises based on hospital performance, in case anyone asks. Make sure you supervisors have a manager with you in case people question it, because we know people will ask. It will be lower than cost of living. Oh but to show our appreciation, we’ll be providing sandwiches for lunch next Wednesday.” So management gets to tote that they’re “giving us raises” without actually making a difference, since the cost of living will be higher than what they give us. But we should totally be grateful for it. Plus they’ll give us cheap stale sandwiches for lunch. Wow I feel so appreciated! . Meanwhile upper management and the CEO continue to get their massive bonuses…
