Manager being condescending towards an injury that occurred off-company time.

Rant. On my off days, I like to go cycling. When I got done with work on Friday I decided to go ride my bike to enjoy myself. I fell off my bicycle going 20mph and landed on my left shoulder and the left side of my helmet. I couldn’t move my left arm above my shoulder without any pain. I decided to wait until Monday to see if the pain would subside – it doesn’t, so I decided to call in because I was worried that I might not be performing optimally at work. I get a text from my manager asking why I called in, I told her I was concerned that I might have a fracture but, more importantly, I didn’t want to further injury myself especially at work. The next time I see my manager at work, which is approximately a seven days later, she asked…

The next time I see my manager at work, which is approximately a seven days later, she asked for an update about my shoulder. I told it feels a whole lot better now and she replied “I think it you would have known if it was an fracture”.

Now, I feel really bitter about working for someone who doesn’t genuinely care.
