manager called me unreliable just because i said i couldn’t make it to work today

i work at this ~famous~ ice cream shop franchise for about 4 months now. i hit it off really well because i'm experienced working in the industry. i turned down career opportunities from the field i graduated from just to work here since it's relatively close to where i live which saves me transit money and long commute. my managers were also the owner of the store, and since they work 10-12 hours a day, they only keep a pool of 4 employees: me being the full-time worker and the rest were part-timers. now, our schedules aren't fixed and changes every week, so when you have upcoming plans you need to book off the day/s right away before the schedule is released. or else it will be hard to potentially switch shifts with someone. i am very open to them to the point that they know my whereabouts even outside…

i work at this ~famous~ ice cream shop franchise for about 4 months now. i hit it off really well because i'm experienced working in the industry. i turned down career opportunities from the field i graduated from just to work here since it's relatively close to where i live which saves me transit money and long commute.

my managers were also the owner of the store, and since they work 10-12 hours a day, they only keep a pool of 4 employees: me being the full-time worker and the rest were part-timers.

now, our schedules aren't fixed and changes every week, so when you have upcoming plans you need to book off the day/s right away before the schedule is released. or else it will be hard to potentially switch shifts with someone.

i am very open to them to the point that they know my whereabouts even outside work (we follow each other on insta) to which i don't mind since i know i don't hide or lie about anything.

i also do my work well since the beginning and they saw that potential and asked me if i'm willing to be trained to a manager position during the winter time. i said yes.

recently i've been having emergencies or been getting sick so there were some days that i said i couldnt make it to work. they were understanding with it until they said that it was getting kind of frequent, to which i say no it's not.

on top of that they ask me favors to come in to work like an hour or 2 earlier, and there's this recent one where they asked me to work on my day off because they had an emergency and i had to watch over the store. just 2 days ago they scheduled me for an opening shift (to which i don't mind, but the employees dont really work opening shifts, just the managers). and i did their favors without hesitation.

just today, i told them i couldn't make it to work because i had to take my bunnies to the vet and it was an emergency. i asked my co-workers if anyone can cover my shift but no one is available so i let my manager know. she then texted me that i am being unreliable now.

i think the most serious mistake i made while working is i left the freezer door slightly open by accident. i know it was my bad because it happened twice, but ive been in and out of the freezer and i always check the doors if i closed them. maybe it's always just an unlucky moment but i own up to my mistakes. and they said they couldn't trust me anymore with all of these going on.

i honestly don't know why i work for minimum wage with no benefits and have to deal with all of these, on top of working in the customer service industry to begin with.
