My manager will call my emergency contact when I don't answer the phone ON MY DAYS OFF
When I'm having the day off work, I don't want to listen to whatever my manager has to say. I use that time to relax and take a break from having customers yell at me and treat me like shit.
So, when my manager calls I don't answer the phone…so then she proceeds to call my emergency contact
Is this not a complete misuse of an EMERGENCY contact? I'm not dying, I'm not injured, for God's sake I'm not even my managers responsibility because I'm NOT EVEN WORKING
My mother (emergency contact) is getting quite annoyed and won't even answer the calls anymore which is an issue in the rare occasion I am actually hurt. The boy who cried wolf kind of situation
It just kills me. Working in retail was a mistake
