Manager came to chat asking for my photos saying it was a mystery shopper test. Am I overreacting?
For the record: I work as a customer care specialist in a company that sells software solutions. Yesterday I found out one of our managers conducted a mystery shopper test. From another colleague I found out that I had a conversation with this so-called mystery shopper manager, too.
The only question I was asked was whether I can send my photos.
Here are the chat itself:
ME : Hello! I will be assisting you today.
NEW CLIENT : hello sweety
ME : How may I help you?
NEW CLIENT : can you send me your photos?
ME: No, we can help you________ Do you need any assistance with ____?
NEW CLIENT : My assignment is to get your photos
And I am wondering is it only me who finds this sort of conversation absolutely inappropriate? Other managers are OK with this. I don't know how this convo can evaluate my skills and knowledge
