Manager Exercising Superiority Complex

I'll probably delete this later, but I feel like ranting about what happened at my job today, and this seems like the most fitting place to do so. I started temporarily working at a locally owned movie theater a few weeks ago. I found out on my first day that we are required to leave our phones in the break room. It does not say anything about this in the employee manual we were given, it actually directly contradicts a statement in it, “Items that are left in the break room are at risk of being stolen. [Company Name] is not responsible for any items that are lost or stolen.” I was not comfortable with this from the start, and was not warned about this or given a lock, so every day since I casually refused to leave my phone in the break room. Almost nobody commented on this. Obviously, if I do not have my phone out, there's no way for them to know that I have my phone on my person. There was one day that someone (not even a manager, but an employee with the same job title as me) reminded me to go to the break room and leave my phone in there. Every employee at this location is like this. It's offputting, as if they're all brainwashed to suck up to management. I usually expect one or two employees at places like these to act like this, usually with hopes of being promoted to shift lead, but it is, without exaggeration, every single coworker I have met here that acts like that. Anyways, continuing with the phone thing, today, I was sent home early due to us not being busy (another issue I have with this company. Half the time, I'm either sent home early or don't get off on time. This is a double standard. I'm expected to respect the company's time by showing up to my shift on time and coming back from my break on time, yet they aren't expected to respect my time by sticking to what's on the schedule? And this isn't a once in a while thing, it's half the shifts I work. No other job has been so disrespectful of my time). I clocked out, and went to the lobby to call my ride to come pick me up. About two minutes later, the general manager comes up to me and asks me if I knew that we were not supposed to have our phones on us. I said yes. He then asked me why I had mine on me. I explained that I did not trust the employees to not steal my expensive property, adding that my lunch had already once been stolen from the break room (which is true). He dismissed this, saying that I should communicate with management about that, and that I could put it in the office. Not wanting to deal with this while being off the clock, I dismissively say “right, sorry” after he explains this. He says “Yes sir?” I say “What?” He says, more annoyed “Yes sir.” I say “Uhh, yes sir?” This seems to satisfy him, and he walks off.

I know this seems like a very petty thing to complain about. I've lurked on this subreddit for a long time, my issues are far less severe than some of the issues I've seen here, and ultimately, this does not negatively effect me in any significant way. I'm able to dismiss his attitude, and I'm in a position where being fired would not cause significant financial hardship. But even despite this, the principle of it gets on my nerve. The fact that this middle aged man has such a superiority complex that he feels the need to rant to off-the-clock employees about things that do not effect their work performance and then force them to refer to him as “sir” as if he has any authority anywhere outside of a shitty movie theater in some town that no one has heard of just pisses me off. We're both adults, I'm not referring to you as “sir” when I have no reason to have any more respect for you than any other stranger.

The rest of management isn't much better, but I believe I have gone into enough detail. Luckily, as stated earlier, I am in a position where getting fired would not cause any significant financial hardship to me, and this job was temporary from the start, as I have something to attend to in January that would've caused me to put my two week notice in regardless. I have decided that, from this point further, I will put as minimal effort into this job as possible, getting paid for as little amount of labor as possible, while also pissing off management and my coworkers as much as I can. Hopefully I will be able to time it such that I get fired just around when I would be quitting regardless. Maybe it's petty, but if I can cause enough distress to this company to get them to fire me, then I see that as a win.
