If these kind of anti work venting posts aren't allowed here, then I'm sorry please remove it. I'm just really disheartened atm
My coworker asked to take my shift today. This is my second job so I said sure, that's cool. Then I get a call for my boss saying “yeah she was already on the schedule tonight. I need you to work.”
I told him I'm sorry but I had no idea that was the case. I ran it by a manager and they said it was fine.
“Well you're the one who is supposed to make sure everything is okay.”
I checked with a manager, they said it was all good, and the coworker asked for this shift specifically. Why would I assume I still needed to check the schedule?
He said “fine, but I still need you in.”
I told him I had already had a beer, since I assumed I had the night off, and I didn't want to drive.
He told me I could be fired for drinking while I was supposed to be working.
???????
So I told him that if he really felt like he needed to do that, I could find another job just like this one in an instant. He didn't respond and I hung up.
I don't know what to do anymore. Every job I feel like I have some lameass POS boss. I have very little patience for this kind of thing, so maybe it's partially my fault that it's like this.
