I have been wearing the same shoe/sock combo for 6+ years (in retail, management, etc) and never had anyone say this was not acceptable. Her given options don't work for me as my issue has to do with prespiration and abrasions; no-shows don't stay on and pantyhose is too thin. I don't feel like this should be a dress code policy as it's creating a hygiene issue and feel it may be targeted as I know the male employees in management wear dress shoes with socks, but she already said the management team is “different”. Is there anything I can do (besides getting a ridiculous doctor's note)? I'm currently waiting to hear back from HR.
