Manager told a customer I’m not allowed a large tip.

This happened a couple of months ago. I was a tipped pizza delivery driver for one of the major 3 companies. Anyway, I came back from a delivery and my assistant manager tells me a customer wanted to give me a $100 tip, then (while laughing) told me that she told the customer that it’s too much and $20 is plenty. I was obviously upset about it and she acted surprised I was mad. She claimed the system wouldn’t allow it, which it does and has in the past as recent as Christmas. Fast forward to a week ago, I found out her side is now that I wanted to take advantage of an elderly person, whom I never spoke with or seen, and that’s why I quit.

I was their most experienced driver, and the guy who would cover all the call outs. I’ll never understand why she thought it was a good idea to tell me. Now they are short staffed and can’t find replacements. I on the other hand have a better job and a better life.

TLTR – manager told customer $100 is too high of tip, allowed $20. Then said I tried to take advantage of customer. I quit.
