Managers and companies keep telling us that we are “Family”. More like a wild animal that will turn on you at any moment.

If you adopt a baby jaguar, chimpanzee or wolf, you would treat it with respect, give it what it wants and needs, don’t cross any boundaries, don’t challenge it, back it into a corner, tell it how much you love it. I treat my manager and company in the same way. Understanding the true nature of this relationship is knowing that we are NOT family. At least not a loving and caring family. My employer is a means to acquire money, and I am their instrument to achieve that. Nothing less, nothing more. And we are NOT family.
