I have been a manager for a few years. Recently, I have taken on the role overseeing some younger staff. Teen and young adults. I'm struggling balancing the needs of my staff with the needs of my company. My staff disappears, takes longer breaks, demands certain shifts, no call no shows, and leaves their shifts early without telling anyone.
I want to support them so badly and tell them I'm on their side. However, I get texts at 10 at night saying,” I need tomorrow off for a family party” that they never told me about.
I love my job and 100% support the Antiwork movement. I want to do my part and make sure my staff gets everything they need, but I also want to keep my job and not get in trouble with my bosses.
What are all the manager, supervisor, and higher-ups doing?
