Mandated leave bs.

Long time follower of this Reddit so now I’m going to post/rant for the first time. I’m Australian and we have 20 days of annual leave. Unfortunately, if you’re working at a corporate, about 5-10 days is eaten up due to forced mandatory shutdown over Xmas. I already dislike that out of principle because I don’t celebrate Xmas and it’s so expensive to travel then but that’s another story. So with Covid restrictions over the last 2 years, people have been hoarding leave understandably because we can’t do much. My business unit has now mandated us to take 4 days off between Easter and Anzac Day. This isn’t a company wide directive (that I know of) but I also think that it’s bullshit that I’ve been asked to take 14 days mandatory out of 20 in this last FY22 up to June 30th. I’ve been saving leave for this year…

I’ve been saving leave for this year for weddings and an overseas holiday now the worlds opening up.

This is bullshit and I’ve been rage ranting all morning to people and also to my management.
