Today we had a “company town hall” over Zoom. Everyone dialed in then we were all told the company was being sold, some will stay to help with the transition. Everyone else, myself included was laid off.
I was handed a severance package that pays me to the end of the month, have not yet signed.
Any feedback on this situation is appreciated. I graduated in 2020, got my first job finally in October 2021, laid off February 2022. This position began April 4th. I was full time with benefits. The company is (was) made up of more than 100 employees I believe.
I asked if this sale was known at the time of my hire, I was told it was not.
Getting laid off again so soon is really hard. What is my life.
