mental gymnastics to be ok where I am

I'm curious as to how you reconcile the idea that you'll never be happy with your field of work and will need to find happiness outside of work? To give some context: I've bopped around in the pharmaceutical industry for close to a decade and cannot stand the bureaucracy of it. The trouble is, pharma is sort of the best paying field for a chemist and student loans throw a big wrench in just saying 'fuck it, i just want to be a barista'. I guess I'm just looking for some incite into how you don't put your head through your desk on the regular
