To Management, I arrived at work today to learn that somebody from the house tested positive for covid 2 days ago and is now at a hotel quarantining. That means that everybody in the house, and at the company, was exposed to him within the last 2 or 3 days. I did not receive notification that this was the case. Instead, I had to find out when I arrived. I have a flight on Saturday to New Jersey for a family trip to celebrate the lives of my grandparents who passed away in the last year. My entire family has not been together in almost a year and so this trip is something that is incredibly important. If I had been informed that there was a client with covid, I would not have come to work today. I feel that this illustrates a blatant disrespect and disregard for my wellbeing, and to be honest, I am really pissed. I understand that this place is all about making money, but the absolute disregard for your staff members is pretty shocking. This is the second time that this happened. The first time I arrived at the house and everybody was still there and all were covid positive. That was different for a few reasons: 1) I was permitted to stay in the office the whole shift, today I am being pressured into bringing the guys to a meeting 2) I was covering for somebody so I gave management the benefit of the doubt that maybe communication was just lacked because you didn’t know I was working and 3) I did not have a trip coming up so it would have just been an annoyance to get covid. This is bullshit. I quit. Fuck you.
