So our company (corporate and insurance) now is requiring us to have rear and forward facing cameras in our work vehicles now. We were told that “these cameras aren't meant to snoop or track you or to micromanage. We aren't watching unless you're involved in an accident.” Which I called BS on right away. We already have management disputing job hours because they use the cameras tracking device. It wasn't a week before I was threatened with disciplinary action via text from my supervisor. I asked what the infraction was. He said I was texting and driving and that immediate disciplinary actions would take place. I wasn't texting. I asked for the camera footage along with the dates and times that I was doing this. I received no further response. Now today we are forced to sign a compliance letter saying we will not eat or drink anything, we consent to have company phones monitored 24/7 in all work and personal vehicles. We also are “allowed ” to give our kids a ride to school but management needs a list of all names and will approve accordingly. Anyone else dealing with big brother micromanaging bs? What's great is we were told that “all employees will be held to the same standard.” However, management and office employees aren't required cameras nor cell phone monitors. It's an “honor system.” Yet corporate in the same breath is saying this is good for us because it teaches us to be a better driver.
