Sorry for formatting,
Just had our mid year reviews in work. Nothing too heavy just a quick chat about about how we're getting on this year.
So my manager calls me to her office and starts going through mine.
“Teamworking- great, always helping out, ensuring we get our numbers”
“Quality- never had an issue with your outputs and you're always the first to flag issues”
Etc etc. Nothing negative.
Then we get to targets.
“Although you always hit and exceed your daily targets I've noticed you've become distracted and less focused”
How? How do you not realise that sentence is a contradiction?
I'm not distracted and less focused, I'm just not breaking my back for a company that has said “your pay is fine, you had a 1.5% increase in March”.
Well yeah, but inflation is up nearly 8%. But no, they offer competitive rates and because of the cost of labour there isn't any room for increase.
Fuck billion dollar companies claiming they can't raise wages while giving CEOs 9 million a year bonuses and profiting in the billions quarterly. And the bootlicking managers that say “well you're paid better that most places”.
