mind my business or stick up for a co-worker?

I work in digital advertising, in the process of handing off one of my accounts to a newer co-worker who doesn't have as much experience as I do. Marketing manager- who is really just the middleman between the people doing the work (my department) and the people representing us to the client- messages me, asking if new co-worker has been “asking relevant questions” and “can grasp what I've done so far.” Clearly the marketing manager is suggesting that the person can't do the work, which 1. Not their supervisor, not their call, 2. They don't do what we do and have very little understanding of the actual day to day work, and 3. I'm not my co-worker's supervisor either, so evaluating their performance isn't my fucking job. I'm always gonna take sides with my co-worker, and I'm going out of my way for them at this point to make sure…

I'm always gonna take sides with my co-worker, and I'm going out of my way for them at this point to make sure they crush this job just to rub in the marketing manager's face.

Do I leave it there? I slept on it and the interaction still pisses me off. I feel pretty strongly that our actual boss would take my side and tell the marketing manager to fuck off, but is it really my business at all and would I be doing more harm than good?
