I haven't seen this discussed a lot and was hoping to get some discourse going. The highest minimum wage in the US is about $16 an hour and that is still a poverty wage in that area. If you make the minimum wage of any state you should qualify for federal benefits. The way the US isn't handling this really shows just how unfair it is for people at the bottom living here. I doubt this will even be addressed any time soon too and it's just really upsetting.
