Mom passed away and work wouldn’t let me take any additional days beyond standard bereavement

I’ve been doing the work of 2, arguably 3 people lately. My mother who’s out of state passed away recently. We were always close and her death hit me incredibly hard. Between getting back home, helping with the arrangements, and taking time to mourn, it’s been a toll and I’ve simply needed more time to deal with this. Well my work only gives us 3 days and when I requested more, I was shot down with a simple “no.” I tried to get more from my boss but assuming due to the amount of work I’ve been doing, they need me more than they care about my well being. I’m tempted to quit today. I have the means to float myself for a bit and it’s clear they don’t care about me and solely want me for the work I’m being underpaid for.
