Moonlighting means that you are actively working 2 jobs to satisfy financial or passion goals and getting paid from both sources. Unlike US where such practices are common where you work 2 retail jobs to pay bills or work full-time at your company while building an online business or do taco truck on weekends in your personal time, India amongst other conservative companies will fire you if they hear that you have a side gig(google “moonlighting India”).
Here is an interesting article stating how the founders of these same companies started their business while working full-time at top US firms and now when they are in power they abuse it by not allowing others to fulfill their dreams or financial goals.
