There are some horror stories on this sub for sure. But the majority of the posts are just people being too picky. The reality check is that most jobs are not going to be pleasant all the time. I was a small business owner (a pizzeria) for 10 years. The expectations I see here from small business owners is ridiculous. For example: “If you can not pay $X per hour you should not be in business”. FYI, I never paid minimum wage and I am with increasing it in states that still is under $10-12 per hour.
For the career oriented jobs (especially the entry jobs), in order for you to progress you will need to work hard. Nothing comes easy. Your manager worked really hard and in most cases has more experience managing people (which is the harder part and this sub proves it). Most of the rules and regulations that may seem weird to you or me will have a reason for being there in a certain workplace. We as people tend to take advantage of the leniency if certain rules are not in place.
Me reading some things as a previous small business owner and not as a manager makes me think most people have not the slightest idea how businesses are ran and how hard is it to manager a group of people.
EDIT: Not all managers had to work really hard to get there. This post is not about managers but your very high expectations.
